Backbone Vancouver is located in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. In the heart of Kitsilano, a stone's throw from scenic Granville Island, and minutes from beaches and downtown, Backbone Vancouver has grown from its modest days as Digital Eclipse North to a studio of over 90 people nearly 10 years later.
We believe in variety and challenge, and the atmosphere is friendly and social with a strong community vibe. We've worked on the full spectrum from handheld and specialised devices to console. We like to keep things fresh from project to project, so if you're looking to explore the breadth of the industry, you can do it here under one roof. We care about quality of life, and strive hard to maintain a balance for our people. From barbecues to movie nights, we also have regular social events to help people unwind. The Vancouver studio prides itself in richly designed games with a depth and attention to detail. We have received many accolades for our work, from the Spyro trilogy for the Game Boy Advance (under the Digital Eclipse label) to Age of Empires: The Age of Kings for the Nintendo DS and Rifts: The Promise of Power for the Nokia N-Gage. We're making our mark, and you can be a part of that, too!
